24th August 2020
Dear Parents/ Carers
I hope that you have all managed to have a relaxing summer.
We have been finalising our plans for our return to school next week.
Staff will be returning to school next Tuesday and Wednesday with children returning on Thursday (Dosbarth Pili Pala, Dosbarth Wiwer and Dosbarth Draenog) and Friday (Dosbarth Cwningen and Dosbarth Cadno). All children will then return to school on Monday 7th September. All children will be expected to return in their school uniforms. Playgroup will restart on Monday 7th September. We will be running our Breakfast Club but to begin with, we would ask you to contact the school to book a place and only use it if necessary for work reasons. This arrangement will be reviewed once we have settled into the new term.
As with the four week return prior to the summer holidays, the children will be dropped off and picked up from the drop off point just outside of the school gates. The school gates will remain closed. Foundation Phase pupils and their siblings should be dropped off between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., Key Stage 2 pupils should be dropped off between 9:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Staff will meet the children at the drop off point. At the end of the school day, Foundation Phase pupils and their siblings should be picked up at 2:50 p.m. and Key Stage 2 pupils should be picked up at 3:10 p.m. Staff will accompany children to the pick-up point. For this to work smoothly, it will be important that you arrive at the correct time. It would be great if as many of you as possible could park at the bottom and walk up the school drive. There will be no after school clubs at present but this will be reviewed.
In relation to lunchtimes, children will be eating in their classrooms before going out to play. Children can either bring in a packed lunch or have a freshly cooked school dinner. All children will need to bring in their own water bottles. We will be spending as much time as possible on the school field during break times so we would recommend that children bring in a spare pair of old shoes/ trainers for this purpose.
I would like to thank you all once again for all of your continued support during these unique times. If there is anything you would like to discuss about the full reopening of school please do not hesitate to ring me next week from Tuesday onwards to discuss any queries that you may have.
Yours sincerely
Paul Harries
