Hub School Bookings
CHANGES TO SCHOOL HUB BOOKING SYSTEMS
Critical workers in Pembrokeshire whose children have been attending school hubs during the pandemic are being notified of changes to the current arrangements.
From the 22nd June onwards, all children of critical workers will return to their original schools.
Children from other families will return to school, if their parents wish, from the week beginning the 29th June as already announced by the Welsh Government. These children will be able to attend during school hours only. No after-school or extracurricular activities will be offered.
Until now, key workers have booked school places for their children via the Council’s Covid Booking Team. However, they will need to book directly with their school for the month of June and for the month of July.
Booking forms have been distributed and must be completed and returned by 5pm on Thursday, 18th June to allow the information to be transferred to the school setting.
After this date the booking system will close.
Amendments to bookings from the 22nd of June and for the month of July will need to be made directly with the school.
Critical workers are asked to only book the days they require and to inform the booking team or school immediately if they no longer need childcare.
“I would like to personally thank you for all the hard work you have contributed towards the Covid 19 effort,” said Steven Richard-Downes, Acting Director for Children and Schools in a letter to the key workers.
“I hope the hub system we set up in Pembrokeshire assisted you all into impacting towards this.
“I am aware from the education staff and emails received from parents that many of the children have had a wonderful time in the hubs in such an unprecedented situation.
“Moving forward, I am sure you are in agreement that the children will enjoy returning to see their teachers and friends before the summer break and new term.”
Mr Richard-Downes added:
“If there are any changes to the dates, we will update you accordingly.”
Important Message June 17th 2020
Dear Parents,
Please see below for a press release from Pembrokeshire Council Council. Please note that it has been decided by the Local Authority that nursery children will not be offered a return before the summer break. Whilst we are sad that we will not be able to welcome back nursery children at this stage, we very much hope that we will be able to see them after the summer. We will be contacting parents of children from Reception to Year 6 who have expressed an interest in returning from 29th June in the next few days and will explain our plans leading up to the summer which will be in line with other Pembrokeshire schools.

PRESS RELEASE
PEMBROKESHIRE SCHOOLS PREPARE TO RE-OPEN
Preparations for the forthcoming re-opening of schools continues in Pembrokeshire this week.
On Monday, 29th June, schools will begin to welcome learners back into school settings from Reception to Year 6 in primary schools and Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 in secondary schools.
Schools will offer sessions to their learners with smaller numbers of learners in classrooms.
During this time children and young people will offered face to face sessions with teachers.
Schools will be informing parents and carers of individual session times over the next two weeks.
Learner and staff safety will remain the top priority during this carefully phased return.
Parents and carers are asked to check school websites to obtain further information about individual schools.

Kerbcraft Resources
We received the following resources today from road safety officer Sally Jones. Please feel free to use them as part of your daily exercise.

I hope you are keeping safe and well during this unprecedented time.
We have put together a “Kerbcraft at Home” information pack for parents/guardians to teach their children important Road Safety pedestrian skills whilst they are taking their daily walks.
Kerbcraft is normally delivered to 5-7 Year olds, but it is a resource that is suitable for all year groups.
